Steward Jean Michel Laflorencie

At 18 years old, Steward JM (born Laflorencie Jean-Michel) was beginning a career in aviation but he finally decided to stop.

Just after his military service in 1967, he arrived in studios of Sud Radio (Only 5 nationals stations were existing in the time: France Inter, RTL, Europe1, RMC and Sud Radio). In a short time, he became the number one presenter and producer of the station. He was making and animating the main variety shows with prestigious guests (Johnny Hallyday, Claude François, Patrick Sébastien, Michel Polnareff, Dave, Enrico Macias, Michelle Morgan, Charles Trenet, Gene Vincent, Adamo, Carlos, Eddy Mitchell, Grace Jones, Pierre Perret, Joe Dassin, Guy Lux, Yves Mourousi)

At the same period, he made commercials for radio and he took inspiration from American stations to invent a new style of animation completely unknown in France “mobile DJ”. During 15 years, he has been the absolute leader of this animation style and thousands of DJ are now doing the same.

His success became international and he gave many performances outside France (Greece, Ivory Cost, New Caledonia, Swiss, Luxembourg, Los Angeles)

In 1985, he created a company called “JMS Productions”. He was making and producing the first sponsored shows for radio stations

Marlboro Music with Antoine de Caunes (“Les enfants du Rock”)

Ricard Passion with Alain Chabat (“Les Nuls” Canal +)

Club Hollywood chewing-gum with Philippe Manoeuvre (Rock and Folk)

Steward JM has been awarded many times and most of his shows have been aired in more that 120 locals and nationals radios (Fun radio, M40, Europe 2, Skyrock).

Just after that, he took in charge the concerts of famous musical bars, Chesterfield Café in Paris,

Moscow and Madrid.

He also organized or worked for prestigious events such as weddings (David Hallyday, Martin Bouygues, Thierry Roussel and Christina Onassis), reception (Prince Aga Khan), Rolland Garros, International festival of Deauville, Avoriaz, Val d’Isére, Tour of France

For 10 years, he has been the producer and manager of the international variety band, Citizen’s

Steward JM de son vrai nom Laflorencie Jean Michel se destine à 18 ans à une carrière dans l'aviation de chasse, mais il n’ira pas au bout de son instruction. Cependant passionné d’aviation il passera par la suite son brevet de pilote privé.

Après son service militaire en 1967 le hasard le conduit dans les studios de Sud-Radio (il n’existe à cette époque que 5 stations nationales, France inter, RTL, Europe 1, RMC et Sud Radio) il en devient en quelques mois le producteur animateur vedette. Il réalise et anime les principales émissions de variétés et reçoit à son micro les plus grands noms du show business de cette folle époque (Johnny Hallyday, Claude François, Patrick Sébastien, Michel Polnareff, Dave, Enrico Macias, Michelle Morgan, Charles Trenet, Gene Vincent, Adamo, Carlos, Eddy Mitchell, Grace Jones, Pierre Perret, Joe Dassin, Guy Lux, Yves Mourousi etc).

Il tourne quelques films publicitaires, mais il s’inspire des radios FM Américaines et impose un nouveau style d'animation «disc-jockey mobile». Durant 15 ans il sera le leader incontesté de cette formule, que des milliers de disc-jockeys Français ont aujourd'hui adoptée.

Outre la France il assurera de nombreuses prestations à l’étranger, Grèce, Côte d’ivoire, Nouvelle Calédonie, Suisse, Luxembourg, Billboard à Los Angeles etc. En 85 il cré JMS Productions, produit et réalise les premières émissions sponsorisées destinées à la FM, Marlboro music animée par Antoine De Caunes (les enfants du Rock), Ricard Passion animée par Alain Chabat (ex nul de Canal +), Club Hollywood chewing-gum animée par Philippe Manœuvre (Rock and Folk).

Ces émissions seront primées à plusieurs reprises et diffusées sur un réseau de plus de 120 radios locales, mais aussi sur des réseaux nationaux, FUN, M 40, Europe 2, Skyrock.

Parallèlement il assume la programmation des célèbres concerts des bars musicaux   Chesterfield Café à Paris, Moscou et Madrid. J M Steward se tourne ensuite vers l’événement de prestige et organise ou participe a de nombreux événements, mariage de David Hallyday, Martin Bouygues, Thierry Roussel, Christina Onassis, réception du Prince Aga khan, Mairie de Paris, concert au Grand prix de F1 Monaco, Rolland Garros, Festival du film Deauville, Avoriaz, Val D’isére, Tour de France avec Europe 1, au lido de Paris etc.

Il produit également et manage durant 10 ans le prestigieux groupe de variété international Citizen’s Band.
